Our House
Twenty-six years of one recipe book, cooked over live fire.
Taj Mahal has fed Deep Ellum since 1998 — the same family, the same clay tandoor, the same insistence that garam masala is ground in-house every Tuesday morning.
The room is warm and low-lit, built around a brass-topped bar and walnut booths that seat two as comfortably as twelve. We serve continuously from lunch through late dinner, so a business lunch, an early family table, and a 10 PM plate of chili paneer all belong here equally.
Everything on the menu can be built vegan or gluten-free, and our kitchen keeps a separate fryer for it. The bar is fully licensed — a short, sharp wine list chosen to survive chili heat, plus cocktails cut with tamarind, curry leaf, and kokum.
